Galveston Yacht Club is a nonprofit sailing organization based out of historic Galveston Island, Texas. The Club brings together sailors, cruisers, and maritime enthusiasts who share a passion for offshore adventure, seamanship, and the natural beauty of the Texas Gulf Coast.
With convenient access to the Gulf and Intracoastal Waterway, Galveston Yacht Club offers members the opportunity to participate in offshore regattas, coastal cruises, maritime education, and friendly gatherings throughout the year.
Today, the club is entering an exciting new chapter in its history with revitalized leadership and an expanded vision for our membership and sailing community, bringing a new and engaging variety of Club events, community involvement, and membership experience.

Galveston Yacht Club is uniquely positioned among the rich network of coastal waterways, bays, and lagoons that define the “Texas Riviera.” From there, members enjoy access to a world of sailing opportunities, adventures, and dreams.
This location allows sailors to experience both protected coastal cruising and open-water offshore adventure.
A Legacy Since 1962
For more than six decades, Galveston Yacht Club has been part of the Texas maritime story. Established in 1962, the club was founded by sailors committed to promoting the sport of sailing and building a community around seamanship and the sea.
Today, the club honors that legacy while embracing a renewed vision focused on expanding membership, strengthening sailing programs, and creating a vibrant calendar of regattas, cruises, and educational events.
